Phill, Marta e Chatuchak

After many years in the Alps, running Orestes Hütte, the first vegan mountain hut on Monte Rosa, we felt it was time for a change of scenery. We traded breathtaking mountains for breathtaking sea views and finding ourselves on the island of San Pietro.
When we first discovered this abandoned house, surrounded by Mediterranean maquis and overlooking the sea and Isola del Toro—the southernmost point of Sardinia—we knew immediately that it was meant to become our home.
Over time, we transformed it into more than just a place to live. We have the idea to create a small bed & breakfast immersed in nature, where guests can slow down, breathe in the perfume of wild Mediterranean vegetation, listen to the sea breeze, and reconnect with themselves through the simplicity of island life.

Born and raised in Australia, he moved to Italy in his thirties and has spent years turning ideas into reality. Creative and practical in equal measure, he can fix almost anything and has personally built many parts of the house and much of its furniture.
He is passionate about surfing and began shaping and testing his own wooden boards here on San Pietro. A dedicated meditator, he appreciates the island's peaceful atmosphere and the space it offers for a more mindful and spiritual way of living.

Marta grew up in Gressoney, surrounded by the peaks of the Alps. Her passions include nature, simple living, healthy plant-based cooking, and sharing meaningful experiences with others.
She has been practicing yoga since her twenties and moved to San Pietro to continue building a life centred on simplicity, wellbeing, and a shared spiritual path with Phill.

Chatuchak—known to everyone simply as Chatu—is our majestic Maine Coon cat and an important member of the family.
Many guests from Orestes Hütte still ask about him. These days, he spends his time supervising the garden, inspecting every corner of the property, and searching for a shady spot for an afternoon nap. If you're lucky, you may meet him during your stay. It's worth noting that Maine Coons are a non-allergic breed of cat which we tested rigorously on our friend with cat allergies. Thanks Matte!!
